Grateful…

I heard on morning radio the other day something about being grateful. I didn’t quite catch the whole story because I had to shut the radio off. I guess the whole point was to write down 3 things you’re grateful for everyday. Again, I didn’t catch the whole segment. But if you do it daily for 21 days, your mind will get in the habit of being grateful all the time. I’m grateful everyday for everything but I thought this would be something good to document here. And how perfect is it to start in the 1st of the month. Here are my 3 things/people I’m grateful for.

1. Tyson!

2. The Sister

3. The Mom

Happy August.

If you’re reading this, what 3 things/people are you grateful for?

Happy Friday…

It’s been a long week. Between the weather, work and an Angels 10 day home stand. I am a little tired. So as I sit here on the train headed to work. I hope today goes by fast.

I can’t believe it’s my 5th post this week. I don’t know why I haven’t been posting as much as I have wanted to. I’m not one to complain about not having time. I can easily post on the train when I’m going to work or going home. I might just try to take advantage of that. Like I said in a post earlier this week, I want to do a do’s and don’ts about riding the train. Metro Monday? LOL.

Did I mention I’m tired? Ha!

Not tired enough to go see this guy play tonight.

Bottom left picture, YES Mike Trout was waving at ME!!! I thought he was waving at a somebody behind me, so I turned around and there was nobody there. Like a true fan girl I wanted to flip out and yell I LOVE YOU MIKE TROUT. But I didn’t. I kept taking pictures and he kept waving!

I could talk baseball for days, but my train is almost at my destination and I better get ready to get off. These passengers are vultures when they are trying to catch their shuttles so I need to pay attention. ROFL

Happy Friday. Have a good weekend.

Thank you Thursday…

Thank you Hugo for living your life so laid back, for always smiling and for always being so helpful, for being so nice and always making everybody laugh.

I don’t have as many stories of Hugo as those closest to him. So at his services when we were asked if anybody wanted to say some words about Hugo.

I didn’t stand up. I should have, but the chicken shit in me took over and I just sat there. I sat there listening at all the things his friends and family were saying. They all shared similar stories. They all talked about his love for food, for adventure, his love for his family and life.

When I first started working with my friend Diana. I thought it was the cutest thing that Hugo would pick her up for lunch every couple of weeks. She’d always come back with something funny to say that Hugo did. Sometimes she even had that look on her face of excitement like when couples start dating. Almost like they were getting to know each other. That is my favorite thing about them as a couple. After being together for so many years they still went on dates, they still said I love you when they talked on the phone and they were truly excited to be in each other’s company. Then you add Abby and Jeremy and their level of happiness goes higher than the sky. Diana has always been one of those moms that has so much pride in her voice and in her eyes when she talks about her kids. And Hugo is one of those dads who’s pride shows in every single fun thing they do together.

Hugo was such a foodie. Him and Diana would take the kids to the Anaheim Art Walk every time I had a booth there. They would stay the entire time and pretend they were there to support me. They think I don’t know that they were actually there for the food trucks LOL. The look on their faces was of 5 year old’s at a candy store. From tots from Mess hall Canteen to crepes from Crepes Bonaparte. They love their food! But my favorite thing and what I will carry in my heart is the day they picked up my huge containers of stuff I was going to be selling at the Art Walk. Took it to down town Anaheim for me. Hugo started to unpack my stuff. Diana quickly TRIED to put a stop to it, because she knows how picky I am and how I like to do everything myself. Hugo set up my tables anyway. He taped the cables down and out of the way so nobody would trip over them. And then OMG he saw the candles. I don’t even remember what he yelled but Diana and I turned around wondering what he was so excited about. A few days before I was on Instagram live making washi tape candles and he was logged on watching me make them. So when he saw them he realized it was what I was making on IG Live. It was the funniest thing. I will always carry that in my heart Hugo. You took the time to help me when you didn’t have to. you taped the cords down when I didn’t even think to. You set up my tables for me even when you knew how picky I was. You took your wife and kids to every art walk I was a part of and not only purchased from my small business but you guys took your time and went to every vendors booth. Those are the selfless things I will always remember.

I am probably rambling. I would have been a mess if I had actually stood up to talk at his services.

So I will leave you with some of my favorite photos I had the honor of taking a few years ago.

Your adventure continues Hugo. When you come across my dad, you will know it’s him because he will talk your ears off. But I promise you, you are in for some fun times with him.

Tyson Tuesday…

Happy Tyson Tuesday.

It’s hard to believe my baby boy is going to be 15 in September. I feel like just yesterday be was a puppy dog.

He’s lost his hearing, he doesn’t move as fast and he isn’t as active as he used to be, but he is still that sweet puppy dog he’s always been. always giving kisses and always so loving. Before I start crying. I’ll leave you with these pictures I posted on International Dog Day.

I love you puppy dog.

Hi <3

I didn’t realize how long it had been since my last update until my niece Dani reminded me that I hadn’t updated my blog. She’s probably the only one that checks for updates and that’s okay with me.

A lot has happened in the last few months. Lots of good stuff and some stuff not so good.

I’m back to work. I don’t know if that falls under good or bad LOL. The fun thing about work is that I take metro. If you know me, you know I like taking the train places. So it’s a daily adventure lol. I will be doing a blog post of the do’s and don’ts of riding metro.

I love people watching so riding the train to work has been fun. I posted this in my personal Instagram. But I wanted to share it here too.

He usually wears bright pants. I was surprised to see him wearing black. What doesn’t surprise me is the confidence in his walk. People stare at him because of his bright pants. But he walks like he truly doesn’t give a fuck what people think. GOOD FOR HIM. We should all walk with that same confidence.

Hi Dani girl <3 Tia loves you.

Please stop by on Thursday for an extra special Thank you Thursday dedicated to Hugo Juarez! My friends husband who recently passed. Love you Diana.

Have a great week!

Thank you Thursday…

Huge thank you to my coworkers that have reached out to me this past week and a half. I still consider them my coworkers even if I don’t work with them anymore. I was laid off from my job of 22 years and I miss them so much. I think of you daily ladies and I hope you think of me too.

Mrs. Ima: my morning coffee is so boring without you, and who am I supposed to get my news from now? The weather report and the entertainment news from. Thanks for always being the light of my day. Thank you for always loving all my crafts and for always telling me no to give my talent away. I miss you.

Arlene: i had to start making my own pancakes since I don’t have you around to make them for me. Stay positive and stay eating all the yummy tofu. Thanks for always being a good sport and for always being so nice to me even when I was mean to you lol. I hope that you finally learned how to pronounce pescatarian lol.
