Paper flower workshop…

I’ve made a few large paper flowers before, but I eyeballed them and wasn’t sure if I was making them right. When Jamie at 702_ flowers4U offered a paper flower workshop. I decided to make a weekend out of it and travel to Las Vegas to take her workshop. Jamie was so nice and answered all my questions and didn’t hesitate to give us info, that is usually so hard to get answers to.

We made 2 flowers using her templates.

Here is the first one.

Those close up of the center is more true to color of this beautiful salmon colored paper.

My petals are a little wonky but I will keep practicing.

We also made this flower, that I am so in love with.

Love the center with a little “bling”

Thanks for all the goodies Jamie <3

Have a great rest of the weekend.

Paper flowers…

I’m feeling so tired and I wanted to take the day off from crafting. But I promised myself I’d make something daily this month and I refuse to not keep a promise to myself.

I wanted to make something easy and so I started pulling fabric for key fobs when I realized I have no hardware for them. I quickly put the iron down, and figure out something else to make.

I was flipping the pages of this book to get some inspiration. Nothing seemed to work. I just wanted to be lazy lol

Then I saw half a tutorial on Instagram.

I quickly plugged in my glue and pulled paper. Maybe I could figure out how to make the flower center from just the tail end of the tute.

So I have it a try…

It looks okay! Right?

Then I made another

These are supposed to be for flower centers. But I’m thinking of making some sort of center piece with them.

It’s a beautiful day out and the nieces want to hang out. I’ll be back tomorrow with more goodies.

Happy day <3

Magazine paper flower…

I fell in love with paper flowers a little over a year ago and I haven’t stopped making them since. I saw an old California Home + Design magazine in the office the other day and well I had to put it to good use.

I tried to cut the petals on pages with Beach photos and fun words. I used their logo for a a couple of petals too.

I love the way it looks. I think I might make more!

Happy Saturday <3

What to do, what to do…

I am always torn with what I want to do with this space. I start posting, I get excited. Then I fall off the wagon. I’m not consistent anymore and that bothers me. I started posting a few years after I started sewing. I wanted this to be a place where I kept track of how I was coming along. I wanted to be able to go back and see what I learned. I loved posting. I really do want to get back into it. I need some motivation. HELP!!!

For now I leave you with some flowers. That seem to be all I’ve been doing lately. I have fallen in love with the entire process. I want to send them around the world lol.

Have a great weekend.
